Rare Hit

Josh Beckett dispatched the #8 and #9 hitters he faced this season easily. The two slots were a combined 10 for 56 versus Josh with no extra base hits. So when Beckett loaded the bases in the top of the second with one out, he had a pretty good chance of getting out of the inning. Adam Jones popped out to first for the second out, but then Bynum, a truly poor hitter doubled off the wall, plating two. Roberts followed with a wind blown double off the wall and the Orioles take a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the second.
