Pedro in the First

The Mets stake Pedro Martinez to a 1-0 lead in the first, but Martinez allows a single, steal and double to allow the Giants to tie the game. He did not strike out a batter and threw 21 pitches. He did look perfectly comfortable on the mound.

Oh I'd say that Pedro Martinez was quite a bit more than comfortable tonight.

Pedro is now 5-0 in 9 starts in San Francisco, going back to 4/18/94.

His walk to strike ratio is a tidy 2.33 BB:6.66 K per game avg. (21 BB:60 K) there.

The 6.0 innings he pitched was 0.38 innings more than his average of 5.62 pitched in SF.

And as far as his hitting goes, tonight Pedro got his first ever hits in the 18 at-bats that he's had in his 9 starts in S.F. to finally establish a BA of .111 against the Giants in S.F.

He looked pretty comfortable to me, going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.
