Eight Run Starters
The Indians and Rangers played an old-fashioned slugfest Monday night, with the Indians prevailing 13-9. Both starters, Laffey and Feldman allowed eight runs, with Aaron nearly doubling his ERA. Two starters allowing at least 8 runs each is fairly rare, happening 46 times since 1957, but 31 times since 1992.
Casey Blake provided a lot of the offense for the Indians with a double, two home runs and seven RBI. However, with all those bases he's still slugging just .418.
Josh Hamilton drove in two more runs which puts him on a pace for 178 RBI for the season.

Cleveland can't turn up its nose at Blake's .418 SLG. It's the fourth best on the team.
Just shows how the Indians' offense has struggled this year. But any offense can look like the '27 Yankees against the rabble known as the Texas Rangers pitching staff.
