Strong Pastime

Russ Smith explains that while baseball isn't the same game the old timers played, it's still an extremely strong sport. Baseball Musings gets a nice mention in the article.

Nice article. I liked the point about tv commercials slowing down the game as much as the play itself. Radio commercials are just as bad, and I've really grown tired of the break being just a bit too long and missing a pitch or two because of it. They need to make shorter commercials since they're unlikely to have fewer of them.

Had to get an obligatory knock in on Tony LaRussa? What is it about Tony that makes people knock him with such regularity. I mean the guy is only 3rd on the all time wins list. Figures that the shot comes from a Red Sux fan...Boston is full of assholes since they remebered how to win.

I think you could go back just to last year and how LaRussa was a weasel after his drunk driving arrest.

How was he a weasel? He took responsibility and admitted his mistake. What was he supposed to do? Resign? People just don't like Tony and look for reasons to take shots at him.
