Rocky Night
The Philadelphia Phillies have scored 16 runs in the first six innings against the Rockies. Six of those runs came on three-run homers by Utley and Coste. That puts Utley into a three way tie for the NL Lead in home runs. Not only are the Rockies pitchers getting pounded, the Rockies batters struck out six times in six innings against Jamie Moyer. Jamie came into the game striking out about one every other inning -- for the last four years. Just a bad night all around for Colorado, and they still have three innings to go.

It is great to watch the Phillies offense produce big numbers and a few laughers, but inevitably, some of the runs scored in these explosions could go unscored in the clutch, in close and/or crucial ballgames where they are needed to maintain momentum with the division race on the line.
