Trust me on this, I live in Houston. I'm a native Houstonian. And I've been to a lot of baseball games throughout this fair nation and Canada. And Astros fans are not amongst the best in the nation.

And this note of Ortiz's comes the day after he trashed these great "fans" for being outnumbered by Cubs fans on Monday night.

And Ortiz is not exactly the most reliable of sources -- last year he claimed that Josh Hancock died because St. Louis management failed to listen to his "Ortiz's" advice.

Sorry, the guy drives me nuts.

Astros fans have gotten a lot better over recent years. Going to the World Series in '05 and the NLCS on '04 helped a ton, but another reason is that we are starting to see second generation Astros fans. Houston grew as a city a lot in the 70's and for years most of the team's fans were transplants. However the transplants' children have grown up as lifelong Astros fans and have become a very solid fan base.

The Cub fans may have outnumbered Astros fans at the end of the game when the Cubs won on Monday night, but there was a time, not too long ago, when they would have been the vocal majority for the entire game.
