Home Runs and Temperature

Sabernomics compares the home run rate in April over the last decade to the temperature in April. The last two season, home runs are down and so is the temperature. The temperature he uses, however, is mean US temperature. I'd like to see someone use actual game time temperature to do the same study.

When was the last time the AL SLG avg was under .400 this late into the season?

It's been a crazy season so far... lots of lights out pitching and not as many massive hitting performances. It is reasonable to assume the pitchers as a whole are having their way with hitters. Last season the SLG in April was .402 but it was above .430 once summer hit.

Cliff Lee likely won't keep so many balls in the park come July. His HR/FB ratio is too low as it is.
