Time to Play Harder
Peter Abraham has the latest Hank Steinbrenner quotes:
"This is going to get turned around. If it's not turned around this year, then it will be turned around next year, by force if we have to."
By force? What does that mean, executions at dawn for anybody not trying hard enough?
Until Hank came on the scene, I had forgotten how much I missed George. If nothing else, Yankees fans know their owner wants exactly what they want, the team to win.

Until he starts actually firing people, you can't mention Hank in the same breath as George. So far, Hank has talked big, but that's about it.
No wonder they are below .500...they haven't been trying to win!
You know, for all of Hank's bluster, he hasn't done anything really dumb yet. Big contrast with George.
Gotta disagree with that - went with a pat hand for a team that was out in the ALDS for the third straight year - ridiculous signings of Posada and Rivera - banked on rookies with no backup plan - issued idiotic ultimatum to ARod - foolishly mishandled Torre offer - picked up option on Abreau - got in pissing match with halfwit Papelbon - are trying to win now with rookies but didn't go hard for Santana - hey whatever - maybe ARod will come back and hit 50 HRs and Mussina will lead them past the ALDS - if they don't what's he going to do? Have them play better 'by force'?
