Breaking the Slump
Ryan Howard went two for four in the Phillies 5-4 win over the Braves tonight. He picked up a single and a double to give him six hits in his last five games. Howard also struck out twice. However, with half of the hits in the streak for extra bases, Howard appears to be getting his stroke back. Maybe it just takes him six weeks to warm up.
Chipper Jones stayed hot with three hits to raise his batting average to .415. I'd love to see him go deep into the season with a .400 average.

also lance berkman is up to .393 heading into his game tonight. hes absolutely tearing it up
If this were a Hollywood movie, Chipper would keep it up through August, get injured, and have to come back from a viciously painful injury on the last game in September with his team on the cusp of the playoffs to help them win and to bring his AB to qualify for the batting title up to par. He'd go 1/4, bring his average to .399, only to get a game-winning walk-off home run in the 9th as his magical bat made from a lightning-struck tree shattered.
