The Yankees have scored three times in the ninth to close the score to 6-5 Tigers. With Abreu at second and Matsui at the plate, Leyland puts the go-ahead run on base by walking Matsui. He'd rather face the low average Shelly Duncan. It works, as Duncan hits a fly ball to centerfield to end the game. Detroit wins 6-5.
