Wild Santana
Johan Santana threw one of the wildest games of his career. He walked four in six innings, only the 16th start of his career in which he walked at least that many. He also set a career high with three wild pitches. He did start a game on 7/15/2002 in which he walked seven and threw two wild pitches. That remains his most wild game, but this is the second highest combination of BB and WP for the Mets ace.
The Mets won the game in the ninth when Connor Jackson threw a potential double play ball into leftfield. The DBacks lose their first series since the Reds took two out of three to open the season.

Two of those four walks were intentional passes to bring Haren to the plate -- not wildness so much as a case of extra-base hits by the 7 hitter!
Not to mention, at least two of those "wild pitches" should have been handled by Schneider, who, apparently, left his defensive whizziness in D.C.
Joe, he is a couple days removed from the hospital, a bit early to throw dirt on his skills.
His defense has not been good this entire year, not just in the Santana start. Reports have even asked what his problem has been so far and Schneider all but admitted to having issues, blaming his deficiencies on trying to break in a new mitt.
The umpire also decided that for Santana, the strike zone begins at the waist and goes to about a foot above the waist.
