First Place Twins
The Minnesota Twins take down the Detroit Tigers 4-1. Scott Baker left after three one-hit innings with an injury, but the pen pitched brilliantly as well, allowing five hits in six innings. Mauer is five for his last seven and raised his OBA to .393.
The win pushes the Twins past the White Sox (who lost earlier today) into first place in the AL Central. I still think they should sign Barry Bonds to give themselves a chance to hold on to the lead.
After spanking the Yankees, the Tigers have scored just two runs in the two games against the Twins.

How would they fit Bonds into the lineup, they already have kubel and monroe for DH's and there's no room for him in the outfield to play.

Yeah, Monroe and Kubel are MUUUCH better than Bonds...
The team that told David Ortiz to can the uppercut and go the other way, that thinks Nick Punto is worth a major league roster spot, signing Barry? Even after hell freezes over it won't happen.
twins are winning first place without Bonds. Our bats are coming alive and many of our starters are really stepping up. Monroe is finally out of his slump.
