It Cust Both Ways
The Athletics and Angels are involved in a slugfest tonight. The A's got off to an early 4-0 lead, but Jack Cust dropped a ball with two outs and the bases empty in the second, and the Angels scored five runs. He just homered in the top of the sixth to put the A's back on top 7-6.

Oakland eventually put it away with an eight-run fifth. The A's are tied for the AL lead in runs scored, but their OPS is a modest .714, just ninth in the league and significantly below league average.
The secret is their .856 OPS with runners in scoring position, which is third in the league. Unless the A's can continue the clutch heroics all year, their run production should taper off if their overall hitting doesn't improve.
