Pittsburgh Positives
The Pirates score off Billy Wagner in the top of the ninth to tie the Mets at four. That's Billy's first blown save of the season. No matter how the game ends, Pittsburgh has some positives to take home:
- They hit two home runs off Johan Santana. Those were the only two hits off Johan, and they made them count.
- More interestingly, they worked Johan out of the game early. Santana left after 5 2/3 innings having thrown 114 pitches. He struck out seven, but he also walked three.
- They drew two more walks in the eighth, one driving in a run.
- The bullpen pitched great, holding the Mets scoreless for 4 2/3 innings so far.
They're going to the tenth now tied at four.
Update: The Mets win in eleven. Jose Reyes reaches base six times on three hits and three walks, raising his OBA to .312.
