Gagne With a Spoon!

Eric Gagne blows another save. That makes four in ten opportunities, but at least he didn't give up a home run. He hits the first batter of the inning, who goes to third on a single and scores on a Pujols fielders choice. At least he didn't lose the game, as the score is tied at eight in the bottom of the ninth.

Update: The Brewers fail to score, and the teams go to extra innings.

Why are both teams using pitchers as PH? StL has used Wainwright and Looper and Mil has used Suppan. Both teams should have bats left on the bench.

yeah, TLR made some bad moves earlier, pinch hitting for brian barton with ankiel and using duncan to hit for the pitcher in the 5th and kennedy to ph in the 8th. With the izturis injury on the HBP, we're now using our backup catcher at first, our gold glove 1B (pujols) at second base, and our second baseman (aaron miles) at short.

The cards have no one left to PH.

@ bsball

With Rico Washington sent down for Russ Springer, the Cards added yet another bullpenner to an already pitcher-heavy roster. And the Brew Crew is carrying 14 pitchers themselves. So no surprises that they went to their best hitting pitchers for an AB.

meant to add, we sent rico washington down to AAA when Springer came off the DL, so we currently have 13 pitchers instead of the usual 12.

Great move signing Gagme. Didn't they see him pitch last year?
