Texas Pickup
Given the general poor pitching on the Texas Rangers, the team has to be a bit dismayed to see Armando Galarraga pitching well for the Tigers. He held Toronto to three hits over 5 1/3 scoreless innings. He did walk four, however. Looking at his minor league numbers, his high strikeout, low walk rates indicate someone who might be good. The Tigers recognized that and found someone to fit into a shaky rotation. Detroit wins the game 5-1.

You would think an organization that has recently been known for its good hitting and terrible pitching would not have traded both Galarraga and Volquez in the same off season. Maybe they just don't have an eye for pitching talent.
The Galarraga deal is the latest item in the fire-Daniels indictment drawn up by posters on the various Rangers blogs. The occasionally reliable Ken Rosenthal apparently said something on FOX about Washington getting the gate if the team keeps stinking.
If Texas slides completely out of contention yet again, somebody could be gone by the end of May.
He did get Murphy and Gabbard for the totally washed up Gagme. The Texiera deal was horrible though.
