Marzano Passes
Former Red Sox catcher John Marzano passed away this morning:
Details still aren't clear at this point, but it appears to be a heart attack. He was 45. Red Sox manager Terry Francona just spoke about it during his daily press conference with the local media.
Marzano played for the Sox from 1987 to 1992.
Joe McDonald has a good Marzano story at the link. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. At that young age, there are going to be plenty of the latter.

I always liked John as a player. May he rest in peace.
John was also the backup catcher for the Seattle Mariners from 1996 - 1998. That's how I remember seeing him play. Seattle set a team record with 264 home runs that year and Marzano used to quip that it would be only 263 without his one long-ball that year. My thoughts go out to all who mourn this passing.
This is why we should all count our blessings daily.
