Wild Pirates
The Cubs appear to be more selective this season, and the Pirates pitchers are playing into their hands by throwing wild this afternoon. The Cubs are up 9-1 in the sixth inning having drawn eight walks. Tyler Yates, the third Pittsburgh pitcher, has faced six batters so far and walked three of them. The Cubs also collected nine hits, including a two-run homer by Lee to move the walks around the bases.
Update: The Cubs end up with another hit, another walk, and two more runs in the sixth and now lead 11-1.
