Sheets Out

Ben Sheets comes out of the Brewers game after five scoreless innings and a 5-0 lead. He only threw 60 pitches. Did someone see the game, and did he leave due to injury, or are the Brewers just being careful?

The report was tightness in his right triceps. He was back in the dugout later in the game and seemed ok. I'm so skeptical when it comes to him - I wouldn't be surprised if he lands on the DL (purely speculation on my part - not based on anything I saw or heard). The Brewers need to activate Gallardo for Sunday. DLing Sheet would open up that spot.

He looked like he was bothered all during the 5th with it. He did sit in the dugout the rest of the game and didn't appear to be in major discomfort.

From the Milwaukee newspaper (JSOnline.com):

There could be more concern than Yost led on, however. Sheets said the soreness, which he first felt the day after his start in New York, was close to the torn latissimus dorsi muscle he suffered in 2005, which lingered into 2006. Sheets admitted that the proximity to the old injury made him nervous about how long this one could linger.

"It's really sore," Sheets said. "It's kind of up in that region, top of the triceps and near the lat that I injured a couple years ago.
