How Not to Blow A Save
The blown saves continue in the Cleveland-LAnaheim series. With the Angels leading 3-2 in the top of the ninth, Speier allows a two-run homer to Travis Hafner. (Good news for Cleveland fans is that Hafner is hitting more like 2006 than 2007.) So how would Cleveland hold a one-run lead?
The answer was Jake Westbrook. Westbrook came out for the ninth and finished the game. He worked very efficiently, using just ninety five pitches to finish the start. He made the Angels tendency to put he ball in play to his advantage as he walked none and struck out four. When in doubt, close the game yourself!
Correction: It was Speier, not Shields.

Justin Speier allowed the homer to Hafner.
i'll bet wandy rodriguez was wishing he had westbrook's manager instead of cecil cooper who doesn't believe that pitchers should finish games because that's what you play a closer for
