Hey Pinto, how bout a little love for the Cubs on this board? Fukudome's got a .600 OBP and is slugging .875. Maybe he's for real...
I'd say the rays are real in that they should challenge for a 3rd place spot this year in the AL east with the blue jays. They got a lot of good young players. But I think their pitching is still too raw at this point. Jackson could be very good though, I think people forget how huge a prospect he was in LA at one point. Good lineup....the AL East has 4 real good teams with real good young talent at that.
Matt's comment is interesting - the Yankees radio team yesterday talked about how the Dodgers really hype their farmhands and how Jackson has a great arm but has struggled with control (see WHIP last year) but still kind of carries around the "great potential" tag from the Dodgers.
I don't think the Rays are for real but they beat the crap out of the Yankees two days in a row.
