Cardinals Strength?

With a 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies today, the Cardinals pitching staff limited a good Rockies lineup to five runs over three games. Because of the rainout on Monday, they did this without their ace, Adam Wainwright. Maybe it's just part of a weak offensive week, but the Cardinals rotation looked horrible coming into the season. Could they be better than we think, or are the Rockies just in a collective slump?

The Cardinals are better than you think...

...but still not that good. Third or fourth place.

Cardinal's starting pitching will not be the factor that holds this team back all season - hitting with RISP will determine how many games the Cards win. If the current staff can keep the team in games early, starting pitching could very well be the strength of this team come August and September.

We'll see how good the Rox lineup is - they're weak at the top and bottom and I figure just about everyone in the middle was about as good as they could be last year - thye didn't look so hot in the WS

The Cardinals pitched well in the spring, as well. They aren't going to be the best staff in the league, but I think they can hold their own until some of the injured players return.
