Bowa Confusion

That Team From Cleveland points out a misconception about why Larry Bowa was tossed for being outside the coaching box.

The funny part of it is the rule about remaining in the coaching box is a 122 year old rule, it's been a phantom rule for as long as we can remember, so we never paid it any mind.

It was created to keep the Arlie Lathams of the world from charging up and down the line, another rule was instituted at the time that disallowed the other action that occurred with the charging up and down the line and that would be the elimination of screaming at the pitcher as he attempted to deliver the ball.

Bowa was born a century too late, he would have made a great St Louis Brown.

And not to be a jerk, but Coolbaugh was a 1st base coach, not 3rd.
