Bobby's Brain

Doctors are concerned about Bobby Murcer's health again. They'll perform another biopsy of his brain. I wish him the best.

In my house, Bobby Murcer is in our thoughts. I'm sure my fellow Met fans feel the same. Get better Bobby.

re; bobby murcer

overlooked is bobby murcers's excellent playing career.

here's his 1971 line where he had a .427 on base avg and a .527 slugging percentage, with 25 homers and 25 doubles, and 94 RBI, in yankee stadium;

1971 25 NYY AL 146 529 94 175 25 6 25 94 14 8 91 60 .331 .427 .543 181 287 1 3 13 0 9 MVP-7,AS

this was a typical peak year bobby murcer season. He was actually a very good player. His only shortcoming was that he wasn't mickey mantle or babe ruth, but he was certainly a lot better than Jason Giambi or Melkey Cabrera once you adjust for the number of runs being scored in the 1970s.
