Manny Late

It's a rite of spring, Manny Ramirez is late for camp. What's unusual is that Manny said he'll be on time this year. Of course, these report dates are meaningless. The actual report date is written in the CBA, making mandatory report dates optional. Nobody actually gets in trouble until Feb. 26.

Update: Manny does show!

He arrived in a white Cadillac Escalade, stayed for about a half hour, and then left.

That must have been some workout! :-)

Au contraire.

Manny showed up at Sox' camp this afternoon, on time as promised.

A lot of old Sox fans would rather see Ellsbury in LF and Crisp in CF and shove Ramirez act. Would the Sox reup Ramirez when his Ducette contract ends.

Only dumb Sox fans would want Ellsbury/Crisp instead of Manny/either guy. I'm a Yanks fan, so if you prefer Ells/Crisp, go for it...

Woah there Bob....I've never heard a Sox fan say that and if they did then they aren't all that bright. As a Sox fan I wholeheartedly endorse Manny in left.

How about Manny in left...Ellsbury in center and Coco bye bye. By the way...I still would rather have Trot in rightfield.

Perhaps when Bob S said "A lot of old Sox fans would rather see Ellsbury in LF and Crisp in CF" he was talking about White Sox fans?

Or perhaps when he said "A lot of old Sox fans would rather see Ellsbury in LF and Crisp in CF" he meant 'old' as in senile?

Bob may want to remember that Moose was the Red Sox first choice that year as a free agent but he signed with NYY and the Red Sox signed Manny and were criticized for overpaying and not getting what they needed - since then Red Sox have won 2 WS and NYY 0

Trot Nixon of the 251/342/336 line last year? He actually managed to have a worse year than J.D. Drew. I guess you don't like winning World Series trophies?

Whats not to like NB....I love em as much as the next guy, especially being a fan. To keep things on the level with you though, I just don't like J.D. and with Trot it was just one of those home grown players type of thing. I was just a Trot fan. However, this season I think J.D. will be doing alot more towards earning that contract.
