Giants Win

This was a no lose Super Bowl for me since I'm a Giants fan and I also like the Patriots. I did like the outcome, however. The Giants have to be the luckiest football team I ever saw. They do a good job of disappointing all game, then coming up with a big play just when you think they're done. The catch against the helmet after Manning was in the grasp of the defense was a perfect example.

Now, at least, I don't have to listen to people complain about Eli Manning.

"luckiest football team"??? You've gotta be kidding me. they outplayed and outhustled and outcoached the Pats the entire game. That's not luck, that's skill and preparation,

How do you gauge hustle?

If they really outplayed, outhustled and outcoached the Paths the entire game, how come they were losing for most of it?

If you take away that helmet catch, of which Tyree was VERY lucky to not have dropped that ball, the Giants probably do NOT win the Superbowl.

The game was close, the whole way around... let's just all be happy we don't have to hear Boston talk about how they beat another New York team (and worse, while undefeated)!

You "like" the Patriots, a team of cheaters, yet you constantly harp on players who supposedly used steroids. Very consistent.

The Giants set the record for longest drive in SB history, held the best offense in NFL history to 14 points, sacked Brady 5 times (he was sacked 24 times all season!) and dominated the line of scrimmage for pretty much the whole game.

The Giants were losing for most of the game because Ellis Hobbs got a gift interception on a bobbled pass on a drive where the Giants had moved the ball the length of the field.

Finally, if you had told someone ignorant of the 2007 NFL season that one of these teams was far better than the other, and then sat with them and watched the game, which team would you have said was undefeated coming in?

With respect, I think that the Giants were the better team in this game, and if you had to pick a team to make a 3-minute , 12-play, 83-yard drive to win the game, you'd have picked them over the Patriots today; certainly they were the ones moving the ball up and down the field all day.

How's this for a reversal of fortune?
An underdog NY team beating a Boston juggernaut!

Payback for 2004!

The Giants were the Colorado Rockies of the NFL, except the Giants actually showed in the Championship. Next year, dumb-faced and mouthbreathing Eli will be back to a 75 quarterback rating.

On the last drive Eli threw about 4 balls up for grabs and if Samuel doesn't drop that one the game is over Pats go down in history blah, blah, blah - but he dropped it - Pats didn't play well enough to win - Congratulation Giants!
