Twins Blink?

There's a report the Twins are modifying their demands to part with Johan Santana. If this is true, we could see the pitcher move quickly.

Hat tip, Metsblog.com.

I wouldn't do Hughes for Santana straight up if I were the Yankees. They'll end up paying $200,000,000 for Santana. That's ridiculous considering you would have Hughes, who most probably won't be as good as Santana, but he's FAR FAR FAR cheaper, leaving you plenty of money to spend on other parts for the team.

come on, even a Yankee fan should realize that the chance of Hughes being anything equal to Santana in the next 5-6 year is very slim. it cooould happen, but the chances are pretty slim.

He would however, surely be cheaper. though with inflation the difference probably isn't as large as it looks to be now (but still large..but hey this is the Yankees)

if it's Hughes strait up for Santana there's no reason to say no.... unless no one else is willing to pull the trigger and then the Yanks could just drag this till Santana becomes a FA.

And there's simply no reason to think that the Twins should take a lesser package. which is why there's more chance of Santana winding up back in Minni than you'd think.

As much as I hate the Yankees, it would be purely dumb if they did not take Johan for Hughes straight up. I mean Hughes is getting started and his highest upside would be a little below Santana. Hello!!! Yankees get Santana for Hughes and Hughes might not even turn out that well. That is a sure no-brainer for me. It would be idiotically retarded to not accept it.
