Chemistry Lesson

Joe Torre gets it right on team chemistry, but Mark from the Bronx Stop doesn't believe him:

Joe Torre had a quote on the Mike Tirico show on ESPN Radio Thursday. It went something like this, "Chemistry does not create winning, winning creates chemistry."

I'm guessing Mark is too young to remember the Oakland A's and New York Yankees of the 1970s.

When teams with "great chemistry" win they should instead just say "winning made them all very happy and willing to tolerate things that otherwise would have pissed them off".

What absolute crap. Scoring more runs than the other guy creates winning. Chemistry can make a team more fun to watch but it won't win you anymore ball games. The Indians won because they were sixth in runs scored and third in runs allowed.

Chemistry is the crutch Torre used while decimating the Yankee bullpen year in and year out.

Jason, did you read the article or did you just want to vent about Torre?
