Where's Everett?
Roch Kubatko wonders why Adam Everett wasn't included in the Miguel Tejada trade.
My question, which might be answered later in the day, once the trade is announced: What happened to Adam Everett?
If you told me earlier that the Orioles would get five players from the Astros, I would have bet the ranch that Everett was one of them - though perhaps his inclusion would have reduced the total to four. But you get my point. It seemed certain that he'd be in there somewhere.
So who plays short now for the Orioles?

There are rumors that Everett's just not going to be the same after the leg injury and he's got a bad back too. That's why the Astros were even looking at Barmes as plan B. Tejada is Plan A.
Sad to Everett go. Great defender, but his range and therefore value may be gone for good.
What difference does it make? The O's need a lot more than a new SS.
One would think David Eckstein would be a nice addition to the O's infield.

David Eckstein just isn't a good MLB SS. If the O's want to continue their mediocrity streak, which by all accounts it appears they do, then he'd be a great fit. If they want to get better as a team, they might want to focus less on guys with "grit" and more on guys who get on base, hit for power, or have great range. Eckstein is really none of those.
Everett was nontendered at the deadline tonight. He is now a free agent. Any thoughts on where he goes? O's?
