Making the Hits Count

The Tigers defeated the Yankees today 5-4. Detroit only picked up four hits on the game, but three of them were home runs, accounting for all five runs. The Yankees knocked out eight hits, but all their runs came on two homers. Part of that was the the Yankees did not draw a walk today. It's only the second time this season the Yankees did not draw a walk in a game. They won that game, defeating Boston on 5/23 8-3.

Update: Two games without drawing a walk is the fewest in the majors. The Giants, Rockies, Phillies and Astros are closest with four zero walk games each.
