Double No-No to Double Dingers

Jurrjens and Carmona both brought no-hitters into the fifth inning in Detroit. Jurrjens complete the fifth with his intact, but Fausto allowed home runs to Ordonez and Guillen leading off the inning. The Tigers are up 2-0 with a young pitcher going for a history in his second start. Jair only threw 45 pitches so far.

Update: Peralta breaks up Jurrjens no-hitter with a one-out homer in the top of the sixth. There have been three hits in the game so far, all home runs. If this keeps up, I'll need to look up the highest percentage of hits as home runs in a game.

Update: That was fast. The Tigers win 2-1 in just under 2:00. Carmona pitches a three-hitter, walks none, and loses. The Tigers staff combines to allow just one hit. Jurrjens walked four, but the bullpen retired the last five batters to end the game. There were a total of four hits in the game, three of them solo home runs to account for all the scoring. The Tigers are back to 1/2 game out of first place in the AL Central.
