I Guess He Should Stop Hitting Go-Ahead Homers
The Rocky Mountain News brings us this interesting fact from last night's Rockies loss to the Pirates:
After Troy Tulowitzki homered in the seventh for a 2-1 lead, reliever LaTroy Hawkins gave up a tying home run to pinch hitter Josh Phelps in the eighth. It was the fourth time Tulowitzki has hit a go-ahead home run, and in the next half inning, the bullpen blew a save.
Maybe they should let Troy pitch next time. :-)

Tulowitzki might not embarrass himself on the mound. Last night I watched him air it out on a throw from deep in the hole, and he's got an impressive arm.
All in all, I like the Rockies as an up and coming team. The pitching has improved as Coors has become more pitcher-friendly, and they've got some good young position players like Tulowitzki. Don't know if they'll make the postseason this year, but I think they can definitely contend over the next few years in the parity league.
Just checked the Rockies run diff: +37, which makes them look fine in today's NL. They haven't had much luck this year - their former closer coughed up some games. Fix that problem, and this team looks ready to go in the land of parity, especially if the younger players continue to improve.
