Almost Even

The Cardinals and Cubs each picked up four hits and three walks today. Each team hit into a double play, each stole a base, and each hit a home run. The difference was that Albert Pujols' long ball came with the bases empty, while Jacque Jones hit his with Theriot on base. The Cubs win the game 2-1 to put more distance between themselves and St. Louis.

The Cardinals now have allowed 24 runs in their last eleven games.
