Night at the Ballpark

Here are some pictures from Saturday night's Reds Pirates game. Each year, my college roommates and I try to get together for a major league game. This year, we decided to visit beautiful PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA.

Matt Morris finally brought his veteran presence to the mound last night. He allowed five runs, four earned in 6 1/3 innings last night, walking one and striking out four. He also homered and singled, just the second home run of Matt's career. He didn't pitch great, but given the Pirates offense last night he should have won the game.

Fireworks.JPG

There were lots of fireworks last night as the Pirates hit five home runs, the most in a game this season and the most since 8/20/2003 when they connected for seven. Cincinnati delivered three, however, the most crucial being Adam Dunn's two run blast in the tenth. Pirates relievers blew saves in back-to-back innings and gave up four runs in 3 2/3 innings.

Paulino's home run ended up in the E in Pirates. What a blast.

The game wasn't quite over as Jack Wilson pinch hit in the bottom of the tenth and delivered a solo home run. It was too little, too late, however as the Reds won 9-8.
