Phillips in the Fifteenth

Brandon Phillips singles with two out in the top of the fifteenth to drive in two and put the Reds up 5-3 on the Braves. An error by Johnson in the inning meant both runs were unearned. The Braves are coming up trying to win or extend the game longer.

Update: Francoeur drives in Andruw Jones with one out to cut the lead to 5-4. The Braves have a man on first with one out.

Update: With men on first and second and two outs, the Braves send up their best available hitter, pitcher Kyle Davies. He strikes out to end the game as the Reds sweep the Braves. Alanta is now three games behind the Mets, and the Reds move into a tie with Houston (which lost earlier today) for fifth place in the NL Central.

If only the Braves had had Julio Franco available...to strike out.
