Howard Homers
Ryan Howard homers for the third time in two games, tying the game with the Dodgers at one. His three homers against Los Angeles ties the most he's hit against a team this season. He's hit three against the Reds in four games and three against the Braves in nine games. He's only played three against the Dodgers.

There was a really weird play in the 9th. With one out, Michael Bourne was on 1st base. Martin called for a pitchout as Bourne was running, but Saito either didn't get the message or just threw poorly, because the pitch ended up hitting the plate umpire on the upper right thigh, barely missing his groin. The funny part was how the umpire was able to call a strike on the pitch as he reeled in pain. He seemed to be OK, though I'm sure it'll leave a bruise.
