Indians Don't Score
Still scoreless in the top of the ninth, the Indians get the leadoff batter on base. The Barfield single sends Towers to the showers. Sizemore tries to sacrifice off Downs, but the bunt is back to the pitcher and the lead runner is cut down. Accardo comes on to finish the inning, but loads the bases on an error and a walk. He strikes out Martinez and Peralta around the walk, however, and Toronto can win with a single run in the bottom of the ninth.
Update: Johnson doubles with one out, chasing Byrd from the game. Betancourt comes in and gives up a single to Rios, and Toronto takes the game 1-0. With Detroit winning 6-4 in the seventh, the Indians might find themselves a game back at the break.
Two great starts go for naught adding to yesterday's six.
