Hi David,

Question for you if you get a chance to answer it tonight. You seem to emphasise the importance of strikeouts for a pitcher and how if a ball isn't in play then no harm can be done / you're not relying on your defence etc etc. You have also made remarks about groundball pitchers in the past such as you don't understand how Chien Ming Wang is so successful considering the amount of balls that go into play.
However what about the argument that strikeout pitchers, throw more pitches, so come out of the game earlier and the team is more reliant on the ball pen?
Johan Santana's performance against the Mets on 19th June made me think about this when he threw 92 pitches in a complete game with only 1 K.
So if you were building a team, would you go for power pitchers who throw more pitches and last less innings or the Wang's, Buerlhes, Lowe's off this world?
