Griffey Speaks

The Mariners hold a pre-game ceremony in honor of Ken Griffey. Buhner and Edgar attended, and Griffey spoke. He talked about flying back into Seattle from Oakland and got a bit nostalgic. The crowd gave him a standing ovation and there were plenty of signs asking him to return to the Mariners. It was a nice touch.

I'm glad the fans don't hate him the way sometimes fans will do after a beloved player wanted out.

I've been to a few games in Seattle and their fans are classy to say the least.

They have plenty of reasons to hate Junior, but have taken the high road here.

Clay: There is, in fact, a difference between Ken Griffey Jr. and Alex Rodriguez. (And no, I don't just mean that ARod is a better player.)
