F-in Pitchers

For the second night in a row, the Colorado pitching staff holds the New York Yankees to one run. Fogg and Francis each go seven innings, allowing one run. It's impressive that put into one of the best hitting ballparks, the Yankees get totally shut down. With the two wins, both the Yankees and Rockies are two games over .500.

Update: The Braves are thinking the same thing about the Red Sox staff. For the second night in a row, the Red Sox shut out the Braves. It's one thing to get blanked by Beckett, but Tavarez came into the game with a 4.97 ERA, but even with that he's been a very effective fifth starter. He's making a good case not to be replaced by Lester.

The Rockies pitching is looking real good right now. I rarely get to watch them, but I've gotten a good look at them the past couple nights. Makes me realize how strong the NL West really is.

Correction, the Yankees are actually one game above .500 and the Rockies are three games above.

What is very interesting is it seems the Yankees have completely under estimated the Rockies pitching staff. They expected to go into Coors Field and be able to hit anything and everything out of the park. They just don't realize that they may have the most wins in the past couple of weeks, but the Rockies have the best record over the past 30 days in the majors. If the Yankees want to start winning, they need to not over estimate their abilities and start playing smart ball.
