Fields in the Field

With Joe Crede going down due to back surgery, Josh Fields gets a chance to shine at third base for the White Sox. Fields made good progress through the minors, improving as he moved through the system and was having his best minor league season in 2007 at AAA. I've never been a huge Joe Crede fan. His career OBA is .305. This is an opportunity for Fields to push Crede out the door.

To push Crede out the door, he'd have to become the best third baseman in the American League, which Crede at the moment is.

I'm a Sox fan and like Joe Crede, but no. At the moment, Joe is a huge question mark.

My point being that you don't push out the player that Brooks Robinson compared to himself for someone who hasn't proved himself in the majors yet. Should be an interesting spring training in 2008, to say the least.

Who is pushing Crede out the door? The Sox management asked him to have the surgery after '06 so he would be ready for the '07 season. Instead, with Boras whispering in his ear, he didn't have the surgery, hurt himself again, and now will be out the rest of the season.

Ever hear of a guy named Alex Rodriguez? I mean sure... Crede is excellent defensively, but he only hit for about 6 months of his career.

"Crede is excellent defensively, but he only hit for about 6 months of his career."

Good things it was in October instead of April.

Oh btw, he did win a Silver Slugger last year.

Wait... so there are people who visit this website who think Joe Crede is a better baseball player than Alex Rodriguez, Adrian Beltre and Mike Lowell? Who knew?
