DeSalvo Salvoed
Matt DeSalvo, starting in place of Roger Clemens lasts just 1 1/3 innings before being lifted. He allowed four hits, a walk and three runs. Clemens could do better than that with a bad groin! The Yankees trail Chicago 3-1 in the top of the third.

Actually, DeSalvo wasn't as bad as the numbers suggest. His defensive support was awful (Josh Phelps in particular) and the hits were ground balls. What's troublesome for the Yankees is that they could not hit John Garland...
And the Yanks are tied for last place...again. What is the difference between their salary and Tampa's? I bet you could field a playoff calibre team with the difference. It's ridiculous and more fascinating to watch than Lindsey Lohan or Britney Spears making fools of themselves in public.
Man, I hope the Devil Rays pull it together and finally build a comfortable lead over the Yankees.
I just had to laugh last night at the two knuckel-heads on ESPN saying that the Yankees should try to get Mike Sweeney from Kansas City, because... you know... the Royals are out of it, and the Yankees are not.
And now I get to laugh at myself for misspelling "knuckle"

I guess Clemens doesn't want to pitch with one groin tied behind his back.
