Duel to Slugfest

The pitching duel between Felix Hernandez and Jered Weaver did not materialize last night. Hernandez allowed his first three home runs of the season, and Weaver didn't last five innings. Two of those home runs came in the first to put LAnaheim up 4-1, but when Weaver left the Mariners had taken a 5-4 lead. Hernandez gave that back as Vlad Guerrero touched him for a three run shot, and the Angels went on to an 8-6 victory. Seattle loses two out of three and fails 5 1/2 games back in the AL West. The Mariners had a great chance to close on the Angels in this series and couldn't execute.
