Home Run Fund
Two college students are visiting all thirty major league parks this summer to raise money for charity. You can contribute to their cause and follow their progress here. Just pledge a dollar amount for every home run hit while they are at a game.

This has purely altruistic notes and that's cool. But still? Why do you need a player to hit a home run to contribute to charity?
It's like those "promotions" aired during games. "For every grand-slam hit in a single game, Dewey's Honest Yum Hardware will donate $100.00 to the Kids With Cancer Fund, helping kids beat cancer."
Y'know, the kids still have cancer whether someone hits a grand-slam or not. Can't you just give them a hundred bucks? Gee whiz.
Feh.
