K-Rod Cheating?

Derek Zumsteng presented pictorial evidence a couple of days ago of Francisco Rodriguez using a substance on the brim of his cap to doctor the ball. Now, MLB is investigating.

Two years ago Donnelly was caught with pine tar on his glove. Is someone on the Angels staff encouraging this kind of thing? Scioscia comes from the Dodgers system, where legend has it this stuff was taught to everyone.

Hard not to think that the Angels are teaching this, especially given the Dodger connection. It might explain their consistently dominant bullpen more than anything else.

It's not the Angels, it's MLB. Everyone does this, they just don't get caught. Orel Heshiser said on ESPN that it's an accepted practice. He was a pitching coach, and estimated that up to 70% of pitchers do it in the cold. He seemed a little reluctant to say it, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number was higher.

Just a group of petty fans of division rivals trying to cause a distraction and sell some books.

Check out Haols Heaven. The story has been debunked.

Yeah - a foreign substance? He always has had resin on his cap since 2002 and it is legal.
