Matthews Speaks
Gary Matthews Jr. spoke to the press today, issuing an indirect denial:
Matthews, speaking to reporters at the Angels' spring training camp in Mesa, Ariz., said he wasn't "in a position to answer any specific questions."
"I do expect it to resolve itself here in the near future. ... Until we get more information, I just can't comment on it," he said.
Matthews said he didn't know why is name was reportedly on the client list, adding, "That's what we're working on, trying to find out. I will address it at appropriate time."

I suppose if it is proven he took the HGH, the Angels could get out of what looks like a bad contract?
I guess that would explain his breakout season.
It wouldn't be the first time a player had one super year which made him a multi-millionare.
The Angels are stuck with that contract which is beginning to look worse and worse. No way they can weasel out.
