Bad News for Murcer

Bobby Murcer learned that the tumor removed from his brain was malignant. My best wishes on his fight with cancer.

It's a shame that this man is mentioned only now that he is ill. He accomplishes so much in baseball as player, broadcaster, analyst, charity leader. Never a source of controversy, simply a star on the field, in the booth, and humanitarian. I met Mr. Murcer a couple years after he retired from playing. He was helping the rookies in spring training and looking like he was eager to put the pinstripes on for another season. It is obvious he has never lost interest in the game. Too bad today's players can't strive to be more like him. Then they too might earn the respect it takes to be labeled a star and a legend. You deserve the best Bobby. I'm pulling for you now just as I did when you stepped up to the plate. Now lets hit this one out of here!
