Baseball Musings Radio Show

The Baseball Musings radio show will be on TPSRadio tonight at 8 PM EST. Check out TPSRadio's other sports programming as well.

You can stop by the chat room at TPSRadio during the broadcast and leave a comment. Also, feel free to leave a question in the comments to this post and I'll be happy to answer it on the air.

And this week, I have a video feed working so if you stop by the chat room, you'll be able to see me on air! I'm told I have a great face for radio. :-)

Please comment on the possibility of the Yankees signing Barry Zito. It makes too much sense. They could always use another starter, and perhaps they're keeping things quiet so that other teams don't drive up the price. Nobody expected them to sign Johnny Damon last year, so maybe this is their new approach.

Please explain why the Giants signed Bonds for $16 million. If nobody else wanted him, why not sign him on the cheap? This leads me to believe that there really was a mystery team, even if that team is unwilling to admit it.

Thanks, love the show, listen to it every week, keep up the awesome work.

with the signing of D-Mat, the redsox reasonable 4 man rotation is Becket, Schill, Wakefield, and D-Mat. Seems to me they could plug either lester, snyder or tavarez (a better starter than reliever in boston), and plug paplebon into the closer role again, assuming he is healthy enough. Another possible solution would be to trade either Crisp, Pena, or Hinske for a closer, the cubs are desperate for a center fielder... Anyhow, what should Boston do for a closer? Maybe even trading Lowell while his value is somewhat high.

Thanks for answering my question last week (even doing a rebroadcast for all the fans out there)!

I'm sure you'll deal with the Matsuzaka signing, and the Vernon Wells contract offer, but I was wondering you could you please help settle a debate for me: is Larry Walker a good comp for what a healthy JD Drew could have been like? Both LHB, outstanding plate discipline, excellent power, great defensive gloves, and smart base runners. Once you adjust for ballpark, I think Walker's Coors powered seasons look a lot like Drew's '04 campaign with the Braves. Or am I just taking crazy pills?

And whats the deal with Boston tendering an offer to Foulke, is he seriously in their plans. And doesn't this mean that they have to pay him close to last years 7 million? or even worse, he accepts arbitration and gets more. And do they move Clement into the bullpen if he's ever healthy?
