Poll Results
The AP polled Hall of Fame voters. If their sample is representative, McGwire won't be elected but will stay on the ballot.
Will Cal Ripken break the record for highest percentage of voters voting for him?
is it Seaver who holds the record with 95%? or am I way off here?
he should have a helluva shot at it, whatever it is.
Ryan went in with 98% i think.
I'll bet Gwynn does better on the vote than Ripken. Ripken's stats have been hurt some by the hard-hitting shortstops of the present generation. Gwynn's .338 career batting average still looks pretty remarkable. And HOF voters aren't apt to look at as subtle a thing as comparing a shortstop to a corner outfielder.
The old guy's love that iornman thing i say Ripken above Gwynn, both high 90's.
Good. It just means more votes for Harold Baines.
