Daily News Wants Torre Fired

I'm looking at my RSS feed and the New York Daily New is all Torre, all the time. They list eight different headlines on the Torre specualtion.

Talk about owning a story.

Oy vey. It's frustrating, as they were knocked off days ago and they are STILL making the covers of the tabloids. Its like a deranged tele-novela. An aging megalomanic owner from Cleveland, a New York-born, man-of-the-people manager; two primadonna players-two of the best at their position forced to play on the same team; a first baseman with mysterious illness who later is found to be doping; a camera-pushing country-boy flamethrower finishing up his career in an uncomfortable spotlight. This team was built for gossip even more than baseball!

Judging from Cory Lidle's determination to enjoy his day in New York, the Yankee fans and readers are much more interested in the team than one of its disgraced players.
